Mrs Kwek's Letter! =]

Haha quite nice of Mrs Kwek to take time off to write this for us...Marcus sent this to me to spread around so here it is...

Dearest 4C

Did you know that whenever we were counting, during our intensive Math revision for the imminent 2005 GCE 'O' Level Examination, the number of days that were left before the examination started, I was also becoming more and more depressed at the thought of losing all of you soon?

Although we were together for only one short year, my life took on a fresh new zest the moment you came into my life, full of vitality and your 'nonsense'. You were such a boisterous lot, and it did not help at all that I had a weak voice. Recall that I even threatened to seal your big mouths with masking tape, with double taping for the really gigantic ones (you all knew whose, and thanks to my poor memory, I always forgot to bring the masking tape to class!). Yet, it was with you that my worst of times actually became better; that my good times became best of times!

Thank you, 4C, for the wonderful memories and happy times spent together uncovering the many mathematical gems in all of you.
Thank you, too, 4C, for providing me with the on-the-job training as a motivational speaker. We agreed that I would be a qualified motivational speaker subject to 100% passes and 100% distinctions in both E. Math and A. Math from the whole lot of you. Also, only then would I have the courage and confidence to practise as one when I retire!

Special thanks to Moses & Olivia for ensuring that the class greeted me and thanked me at the start and the end of lesson respectively.

Heartfelt thanks to Marcus who prepared the stage daily for me to perform my 'math wayang', and to Mesy for 'cleaning' after me and the class ever so faithfully!

Thank you, too, Professor Daniel Seow, for your words of wisdom and encouragement.

Let me now share with you a poem entitled 'The Man Who Dares' that urges you to accept challenges, change and social responsibilities in a world that is increasingly complex:

"The man who decides what he wants to achieve
And works till his dreams all come true
The man who will alter his course when he must
And bravely begin something new
The man who is determined to make his world better
Who is willing to learn and to lead
The man who keeps trying and doing his best
Is the man who knows how to succeed."

Will always remember all of you with warmth and affection.

Best Wishes and
May you remember and support your Alma Mater.
