Friday the 13th?
It's been awhile since I blogged, haha.
I wonder if you believe in superstitions or have weird phobias, personally I don't believe in superstitions or anything being really cursed, for example anything associated with 13 as being 'bad fortune'. I would usually dismiss all this and not think or focus so much on it. After playing pool earlier on, I was reminded that all these fears and mentalities are just imaginary; when I started playing I was getting thrashed here and there as if I was cursed, but the tables were turned later on as time passed and I started to win some (:
Later at home, I came across this interesting website about phobias (www.allaboutphobias.com), with the list being more intriguing. Here are some of the more unusual phobias:
(randomly picked)
-Paraskavedekatriaphobia - Fear of Friday the 13th. (come on, its just a another day and date.)
-Pteronophobia - Fear of being tickled by feathers. (how can anyone ever realise if you have this phobia, its even hard for one to find out if he/she has that phobia.)
-Vestiphobia - Fear of clothing. (gotta wear them you know, gone is the the Adam-and-Eve era.)
-Xenophobia - Fear of strangers or foreigners. (why be afraid of bhanglas, china people or ang mohs etc., their human beings too.)
-Rhinophobia - Fear of noses. (only one nose to fear---mich*el jackson's, its scary and looks like it'll drop anytime, by the way anyone know exactly where he is now?)
-Demophobia, Enochlophobia, Ochlophobia - Fear of crowds. (just avoid pasar malams, funfairs and orchard road during weekends, and now, vivo city as well.)
-Parthenophobia - Fear of virgins or young girls (why would people, especially guys, fear them haha)
-Maserphobia - Fear of Singaporeans, the mixed culture of Singapore (heh heh, people actually fear us.)
-Logophobia - Fear of words (you wouldn't even be reading this now if you had this phobia haha.)
-Leporiphobia - Fear of rabbits (why be scared of them, their so cute, cuddly and docile haha)
-Melophobia - Fear or hatred of music (music makes the world go round! =] )
-Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia - Fear of long words (seriously!)
-Phalacrophobia - Fear of becoming bald. (theres always yun nam haircare and other hair-growing services or solutions haha)
-Fearaphobia - Fear of the word fear (its just another word, like sock, heh.)
-Heliophobia - Fear of the sun (nothing you can do about the sun, it'll always be waiting for you the next morning, burning through your curtains, shining directly onto your skin and eyes, and tanning you up to be browner and browner, leaving you no place to hide muahahah, heh.)
- Nosocomephobia - Fear of hospitals (an apple a day keeps the doctor (and hospitals) away, so stay healthy and fit haha.)
-Prosophobia - Fear of progress (then you'll always be a loser.)
-Pupaphobia - Fear of puppets (what can sesame street do to you?!)
-Trypophobia - Fear of holes (conquer your fears, conquer those holes.)
-Carnophobia - Fear of meat (just do it,just eat it.)
-Homichlophobia, Nebulaphobia - Fear of fog. (hope we don't develop this after the haze period.)
-Caligynephobia, Venustraphobia - Fear of beautiful women. (oo, those terrifying curves; no wonder there are so many homosexuals around these days.)
-Phobophobia - Fear of developing phobias. (hahaha)
There are just too many to list down haha, I used to have many fears too including this:
(during my childhood days)
-Atelophobia - Fear of imperfection (everyone longs for perfection right hah.)
-Heterophobia, Sexophobia - Fear of the opposite sex. (haha of course its a different story now)
-Misophobia, Molysmophobia, Molysomophobia, Mysophobia, Verminophobia - Fear of being contaminated with dirt or germs (to some extent, I was a clean freak haha.)
-Dentophobia - Fear of dentists (the drills they used were scary!)
-Pyrophobia - Fear of fire (its just dangerous.)
I just used to have quite a few fears such as those above, but have grown up to trust God more and commit those fears to him. I still remember the verse my Mom made me memorise this verse and recall it whenever I was frightened,
"For God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind."-2 Timothy 1:7
So you know you can always use prayer and turn to God in times of fear and desperation.
No Fear!
Eh why is my tagboard like that now? Can someone help me?
What a way to end a nice, long entry.
Heh.
